What we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to process tips: your name, email address, and Stripe account details. We do not store card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials — Stripe handles all payment data directly.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to operate the Tip It service: processing tips, managing your bracelet, sending payment notifications, and providing customer support. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Payment processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor. Card data is transmitted directly to Stripe and never touches our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle payment information.
NFC bracelet data
Your NFC bracelet contains a unique identifier that links taps to your account. No personal information is stored on the bracelet itself. The bracelet cannot be used to track your location or activity outside of the Tip It service.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the service is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Data retention
Transaction records are retained for the period required by financial regulations (typically 7 years). You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting support. Stripe retains payment records independently per their own policies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can export your tip history at any time from your dashboard. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@tipit.so.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via email or through the service. Continued use of Tip It after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
